Distance

The command Distance is used to:

  • calculate the distance between the existing elements in the graphic window.

  • generate a simplified view of the data.

  • store the annotations as labels.


How to use the function step-by-step

To use the Distance function:

  • Click Home.

  • Click Distance.

  • Select the distance mode:

    • 2 points: the distance is calculated between 2 points.

    • Sequential: the distance is calculated between couples of points, with a cumulative total distance.

    • Radial: the distance is calculated between a reference point and a second point. The reference point is not changed.

  • Select the point depending on the distance mode selected.

  • The annotation shows the distance between the points.

  • On the Measure panel, you can visualize additional information.

Store annotation values

It is possible to store annotations.

  • After measuring a distance with the Distance function, the panel is opened.

  • Click Options.

  • Select the values to include in the annotation and click OK.
