Collaborative surveys

• Collaborative surveys allow to perform survey and stakeout operations in parallel from more field controller, while sharing and visualizing in real time the complete survey.

To partecipate in a collaborative survey, the users must have different X-PAD365 Professional accounts or being sub-users of an X-PAD Enterprise account.

Start a collaborative survey session

• The user who want to start the collaborative survey on X-PAD Ultimate creates a new job, that will be shared with the colleagues.

• Open the X-PAD365 workspace on X-PAD Ultimate.

• Click Collaborative.

  

• Select New session.

  

• This open the settings for the collaborative survey.

  

  • Name: the name of the session.

  • Group name: select from the list the X-PAD365 user or the chat group. To add a user or create a chat group see X-Chat.

  • Session alias: the alias used in the session, will be used to identify the points measured.

  • Link current job file: the current job file will be shared with the participants.

  • Attach codes and GIS libraries: the code library and GIS library will be shared with the participants.

• Click Start to start the session. The software opens a page with the resume of the configuration and some options to enable/disable.

  

  • Share points: the points measured will be shared in real time with participants.

  • Receive points: the points measured by the participants will be received in this controller.

  • Receive users position: the position of participants will be visible in the map.

• If the session is running the Collaborative icon will start to blink and this icon will be visible in the survey and stakeout page.

  

Join a collaborative survey session

• To join the session from a controller where have been invited open the X-PAD365 workspace on X-PAD Ultimate.

• Click Collaborative.

  

• Select Join session and click Next.

• Select one of the available active sessions and click Join session.

  

• If the session was created with option to share the job file, you will be prompted to download the linked job file.

  

• Download and open the corresponding job.

Sharing points and drawing within a session

• When the session is started, it is possible to visualize in real time points and drawing measured by the participants in the session.

• The points measured by the other participants are in a different color, and have their user alias as prefix.

  

• If you start the survey while other participants already measured points, you are prompted to download locally the missing points and drawing.

  

If working in stakeout the information on staked out points are also shared.

• The shared points are available in the controller with a special icon to identify these was measured by the other participants.

  

Close a collaborative session

• To leave a collaborative session open the X-PAD365 workspace on X-PAD Ultimate.

• Click Collaborative.

  

• Click Leave session.

• Now you have the possibility to permanently close the session or keep it active in case to rejoin it later, or let the other participants to continue.
