The command Distance is used to:

calculate the distance between the existing elements in the graphic window.

generate a simplified view of the data.

store the annotations as labels.
How to use the function step-by-step
To use the Distance function:

Click Home.

Click Distance.

Select the distance mode:
-
2 points: the distance is calculated between 2 points.

Sequential: the distance is calculated between couples of points, with a cumulative total distance.

Radial: the distance is calculated between a reference point and a second point. The reference point is not changed.

Select the point depending on the distance mode selected.

The annotation shows the distance between the points.

On the Measure panel, you can visualize additional information.
Store annotation values
It is possible to store annotations.

After measuring a distance with the Distance function, the panel is opened.

Click Options.
-
Select the values to include in the annotation and click OK.
-
Click Store to store the annotation label.
