External references
|
External references are connections that are created between:
The current job and other jobs of X-PAD.
The current job and other data files in different formats (DXF, IFC, LandXML, etc).
The current job and other data files in raster maps.
Instead of importing data to the current job, it is possible to manage the reference to the data and load it temporarily when needed. When opening the main job, the data can be loaded from the linked files.
External reference is a very flexible way of managing the data required for the phases of the job.
The external references allow:
Loading only what is needed without changing the main file.
Loading the updated version of the reference file.
Sharing the same reference files between multiple jobs.
The elements imported by an external reference cannot be modified.

Load an X-PAD document: loads an X-PAD job file in GFD4 format as external reference.
Load a drawing DXF/DWG: loads a drawing file in DXF or DWG format as external reference.
Load an IFC file: loads a BIM model in IFC format.
Load a raster map: loads a raster map to be used as background.
Load a LandXML: loads a LandXML file as external reference.
Load a SBG Geo data GEO/PXY: loads a SBG Geo data file in GEO as PXY format as external reference.
Load a WFS - Online: loads an online WFS (Web Feature Service) accessible through internet to loads specified entities as external reference.
Load a WFS - Offline/GML file: loads WFS (Web Feature Service) entities from a file in GML format.
