MEP

  • MEP stands for mechanical, electrical, plumbing.

  • In construction and surveying, total stations are often used not only for setting out structural elements but also for accurately positioning MEP services, such as ductwork, conducts, piping, cable trays and more.

  • MEP functions are used to set out or check coordinates for mechanical, electrical and plumbing works on-site.

  • It comprises of different functions.

  • Plumb point : to determine, for the measured point, the corresponding plumb point (toward the top or toward the bottom).

  • Level point : to get a reference height and transfer it on every other surface. Measure a reference height on the first wall, turn the telescope with the laser pointer to the next wall. The same height is indicated on the wall.

  • Parallel line : to determine parallel lines to a reference line on every surface. Measure the reference line and define the distance.

  • Distance & offset : to determine new positions and distances related to a starting point on vertical surfaces. Having a starting point, set a horizontal relative distance and a vertical relative distance. The laser pointer positions itself exactly on the requested point.
