Excavation surface

The function Excavation surface calculates a full excavation surface starting from a polyline that defines the bottom of the excavation.

  • Click Design 3D.

  • Click Excavation.

  • The function opens a new panel on the right.

    • Surface result: the surface subproject where excavation surface is created. Can be a new surface or an existing surface.

    • Layer: the layer for the new surface.

    • Color: the color of the new surface.

    • Ground surface: the existing ground surface.

    • Horizontal offset: the horizontal offset from the polyline that defines the bottom of the excavation and the ground surface. Click image-20250115-102712.png to pick the distance from the CAD.

    • Cut slope: the slope of the excavation sideslope, in case the sideslope is below the ground surface. Click image-20250115-102712.png to pick the slope from the CAD.

    • Fill slope: the slope of the excavation sideslope, in case the sideslope is over the ground surface.Click image-20250115-102712.png to pick the slope from the CAD.

    • Round corners: to round the sideslope corners

  • Select the polyline that represents the bottom of the excavation.

  • The software generates the excavation surface.
